History of kannawa onsen beppu
Umijigoku is located in kannawa area, one of beppu hattou (beppu eight hot springs).
The area is surranded by 2300 foutains. Since of that, you could see there is hot spring steam come up from underground.
From Edo era, a lot of people come to beppu for Toji ( health cure). Nowdays, the modern Toji culture is speard from all over Japan.
